The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

The Impact of Digitalization on Citizen Engagement in the Provision of Public Services: A Look at Reality

Members and partners of the Global Initiative for Fiscal Transparency will share experience and questions on the impact of digitalization in engaging citizens in the provision of goods and public goods. In many countries such as Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Georgia, Ukraine and Italy, governments have used open data and digitalization as means to improve the impact on the delivery of public services.

During the session, representatives from civil society and ministries of finance will share how the use of information technologies has allow a better provision of public services, with an enhanced engagement from the beneficiaries.
