The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

I just received the doctoral degree in Public Administration focusing on citizen participation, participatory governance, and leadership and empowerment from the University of Baltimore in May of 2018. I have been attending the OGP summit since 2010 and never missed one so far. I have been Interested in learning the development of citizen participation among the member countries in particular in the Asian region. I am also eager to learn more technological tools and methods to advance the community building and civic engagement in public policy and public affairs. I personally established a social enterprise named "Citizens Power" Social Enterprise in Kaohsiung of Taiwan in March of 2018. I plan to encourage more participation from the civil society through various designed training and events as well as the public servants. I like to see the recognition gap reduce between government and the citizens.
