The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

Ugochi Ekwueme

Ugochi Ekwueme is a development communications strategist who works with the Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) to identify the best possible platforms to highlight their various project initiatives. She leads the well-versed communications team to portray the organizations activities in Open Contracting, Freedom of Information, Films for Change, Digital Inclusion and Online Safety in a coherent and engaging manner.

In her 4 years with PPDC, she has launched several initiatives to spark engagement around several PPDC activities including the scripting and production of the Budeshi Waka Documentary Series 1. Through her work in PPDC she has evolved into publishing other editorials such as the Africa Freedom of Information Centre (AFIC) Open Contracting newsletter and the Open Alliance newsletter which focuses on various activities carried out by the civil society organizations in implementing commitments made in the OGP Nigeria National Action Plan. She is also the editor of the Procurement Monitoring newsletter, a monthly publication run by PPDC.

Ugochi holds a BSc in Business Administration from Igbinedion University and has some of her articles featured in the dailies such as Premium Times and Daily Trust. In addition to her communications role, Ugochi is also the Monitoring and Evaluation officer at PPDC and the Program Coordinator for PPDC’s Homevida program; a film award platform that provides incentives to film makers to infuse integrity values in their movies.
