The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

The Kyrgyz Republic became the first country in Central Asia to join the Open Government Partnership (OGP) initiative, the Open Government Partnership is an international platform that unites 74 states and 15 subnational (regional) governments.
The grant is aimed at supporting the government to promote the open data initiative. The purpose of data disclosure and their publication in machine-readable formats is the facilitation of access to them for interested persons who can rework them and provide valuable research, applications, analytics, etc. Open data are a kind of basis for a large number of socially significant and socially useful projects. Open data can be used free of charge, repeatedly, can be changed and redistributed by anyone for any purpose.
Open data is a special way of publishing information in formats suitable for subsequent processing and analysis. This approach allows wide re-use of public public databases by business, the media and civil society. Examples of such data include computer-readable information disclosure:
- on public procurement
- Directories of address information
- disclosure of the budget of the city of Bishkek or local budgets.
- growth in population and demographics by region, analysis of fertility, mortality
The main goal of the grant is the creation of a national platform for open data and mechanisms for access to the population. The open data platform will be part of the electronic services portal, the development of which is envisaged in one of the components of the Digital CASA project. Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
