Nathaniel Seth Heller

Appointed in February 2017 as Results for Development’s executive vice president for integrated strategies, Nathaniel Heller oversees the organization’s practice areas that cut across disciplines, such as governance and citizen engagement, adaptive learning and evaluation, adapting and scaling up innovation, and initiatives aimed at increasing access to vital products or services in education, health and nutrition. Previously, he was a managing director, overseeing the organization’s governance and social accountability program.
Before joining R4D in 2015, Mr. Heller co-founded and led Global Integrity, a nonprofit organization that promotes government transparency and accountability worldwide. During that period, Mr. Heller designed and established the OpenGov Hub, the world’s first open government-themed co-working community with locations in Washington, DC and Kathmandu. Mr. Heller previously served at the U.S. Department of State and focused on European political and military affairs; as a fellow at the Center for Public Integrity reporting on public sector accountability and ethics; and as a foreign policy fellow for Senator Edward Kennedy.
He is currently a civil society co-chair and steering committee member of the Open Government Partnership and serves on the boards of Development Gateway, The Engine Room, and Feedback Labs.
