Mr. Gigi Bregadze is the Democratic Governance Team Leader at UNDP Georgia since June 2014. He is responsible for the quality assurance within the democratic governance portfolio. Prior to that he was working at different positions at various organizations in the UN system. He has an experience of more than 20 years in the humanitarian and development fields. He has contributed to expanding of the UNDP portfolio to involve the strategic interventions into the fields of elections, media, parliament and local governance. He has helped to establish various coordination mechanisms at the strategic level including outside of the organization. Mr. Bregadze chairs the Democratic Governance Result Area in the process of planning, implementation and monitoring of UN Development Assistance Framework. He also co-chairs the Technical Working Group on Elections.
He holds Master’s degree in International Relations from the Tbilisi State University and has graduated the course on UN, Civil Society, and the Private Sector in Global Governance from Central European University in Hungary organized by the United Nations University and the Executive Office of the Secretary-General.
