The Ministry of Justice of Georgia, OECD and OSJI propose a high-level panel/round table to describe how the OGP can strengthen links between access to civil justice, legal empowerment and open government. The panel will feature high-level speakers coming from justice institutions, planning agencies and civil society. Speakers will discuss OGP commitments and innovative country experiences for advancing legal empowerment and people-focused access to justice as a means to enhance openness, transparency and accountability.

The panel seeks to highlight opportunities and generate political momentum for OGP members to incorporate access to justice commitments into their 2018 and 2019 NAPs. This event will align with a separate working session for civil society and government reformers on the same topic at the OGP summit, advance the implementation of the Paris Declaration ”Supporting Justice for All” and efforts toward the Joint Declaration on Open Government for the SDGs.
