The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

Navigating Open Government and Shifting Space: Perspectives from the Fiscal Justice Movement

International Budget Partnership, Oxfam and local partners will host an interactive conversation about to explore experiences and strategies of navigating the complexities of opening and closing of governance spaces, and pursuing more equitable public resource use in contexts of increasing inequality. The session will showcase experiences and lessons learned from country-level civil society fiscal governance initiatives and the implications for work on the ground. This session will offer new perspectives to the way participants conceptualize closing civic space issues and better equip them to work on fiscal governance issues in their country with new tools and ideas.
