The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

Spotlight on Reformers and Tools: Reaching New Stakeholders, Protecting Space for Dialogue

This session highlights innovative projects undertaken and tools built by reformers in government and civil society to tackle some of big open government challenges their countries face. The reformers will be sharing details of their initiatives through creative storytelling formats - TED-style talks, pitches, and reverse pitches, fireside chats, and stories. This session hopes to providing inspiring entry points to spark conversations around new networks and ideas that you could consider adapting in your own jurisdictions and contexts. This particular spotlight session will showcase stories of initiatives that look at the space for citizen and civil society in decision-making. We will hear about initiatives that look at creating channels for reaching new stakeholder groups - minority communities, youth, citizens at large. At the same time, the session will also showcase stories and initiatives of efforts to fight closing of spaces for civil society and citizens to engage in dialogue with governments.
