The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

What Has Led Georgia to OGP Chairmanship?

The panel will initiate a Georgia-centric discussion on OGP and highlight key factors that have made Georgia’s OGP journey a success.  This will also be an opportunity to hear what could have been done differently and, thus, serve as lessons learned for Georgia and other countries. The panel aims at providing different perspectives on the same topic by bringing together representatives of the government, leading civil society organizations, and donors.

Representatives of the government will highlight overall progress of Georgia in OGP context Representatives of the civil society who have been drivers of the process from the very start of the initiative will talk about their experience with OGP Georgia. USAID's senior level representative will focus on global USAID perspective in regards of OGP as a tool for aligning assistance to push for reforms with specific focus on OGP Georgia. UNDP Georgia will talk about Open Parliament Partnership in Georgia as well as integrations of Strategic development Goals (SDGs) in OGP in Georgia.
