The global trend of opening the parliamentary institutions to citizens has been steadily increasing as citizen’s demand and expect engagement beyond elections. In some countries, giving the public influence in parliamentary processes has resulted in transforming the relationship between parliaments and citizens, requiring the parliament to look beyond party politics and focus on the issues that affect a country's citizens. The idea behind this very practical session is to tell the story of how four OGP commitments in Argentina, Georgia, and Paraguay and Ukraine have enhanced opportunities for citizen engagement both in terms of the quality and quantity of participation.
