Innovative Partnerships for Sustainable Development Goal 16 Data for Strengthened Monitoring and Implementation

SDG16 is about importance of a governance-informed development. However, it is particularly challenging for open data collection, with many Tier 3 and politically sensitive indicators. New partnerships are therefore critical to make progress on SDG16. The OGP structure and mandate are well-positioned to act as a platform and model for the kind of cooperation needed to monitor the implementation of SDG16. This session will showcase novel approaches from civil society and governments that have done considerable work on SDG16 data. With our eyes on the 2019 HLPF, this session will move forward the discussion on monitoring SDG16.
