The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

The OGP is phasing out its working groups in favor of flexible strategic partnerships with initiatives that have a demonstrated record of leadership and technical expertise in a thematic area. Among them, the OGP is establishing collaboration with the OD4D partners to advance support to open data commitments and the implementation of open data principle.

Since more than 60 OGP countries have commited to implement ambitious open data reforms, this partnership offers a clear opportunity to pool resources, reduce duplication, collaborate on shared projects and deliver more effective peer learning at scale.

This session is a chance to introduce the work of the OD4D network partners, including leading open data organizations helping to create global norms, share knowledge and inform policies, standards, innovation and research in developing countries, and seek to identify potential areas of collaboration with OGP members.
