Promoting People’s Participation for Improved Public Services: SMART Commitments on Implementing Open Government through Social Accountability

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Grounded in OGP commitments in Indonesia, Kenya, Mongolia and Moldova, the session will explore how governments, civil society and local communities are working together to improve public service delivery through social accountability mechanisms. There will be sharing of promising practice on closing the feedback loop and how governments, civil society and other actors feedback to those that participate through social accountability and other mechanisms, particularly to the often marginalised. Learning from current commitments, practice, challenges and gaps, participants will propose model commitments on implementing open government through social accountability to inspire proposals for upcoming OGP country action plans.
