The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

Civic Engagement Practical Tips and Tactics: OGP as a Tool to Put People at the Heart of Decision Making

This session will discuss effective participation methods which improve outcomes for citizens and will explore ways for people to participate in decision making. Hearing examples from Ghana’s, Sekondi-Takoradi on how their infrastructure investment system is designed to build citizen’s trust. From USA, about Austin’s work to end homelessness, co-creating a systems-map with the people affected. A Georgian representative will talk about work on homelessness and Scotland will present on the strengths and weaknesses of a panel of 2,000 users recruited to help co-design a new Social Security system. The audience will be encouraged to join the discussion.
