The Government of Georgia will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 76 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens.

Eliminating Corruption through Shaping the Future of E-Procurement

Transparent public procurement, in particular, e-procurement is essential in the fight against corruption as it allows governments to hold bidders and contractors accountable for their actions. This high-level session will focus on eliminating corruption through shaping the future of e-procurement. It aims at discussing and promoting new visions, approaches, and good practices on e-procurement and its capacity to eliminate corruption.

To this end, senior executives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Georgian State Procurement Agency, the Open Contracting Partnership, and the World Bank will share their views, experiences and vision of the future of e-procurement. Accordingly, the session will bring together Georgian and international experience. It will showcase good practices and explore challenges and visions for the future of e-procurement and its capacity to combat corruption.
