Carolyn Myers Zoduah is Coordinator of the Non-State Actors Secretariat at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning in Liberia, where she manages the Civil Society and Social Accountability program under the Integrated Public Financial Management Reform Project. The program strengthens Civil Society Organizations through grants and trainings to serve as critical watchdogs in fiscal transparency.
She has more than eleven (11) years of experience working in the Liberian media and Civil Society especially in areas of transparency, accountability, Public Financial Management, including participatory and gender responsive budgeting, public policy, women’s empowerment and community mobilization. She works with available resources to achieve maximum results using knowledge and experience in research, advocacy, project management, and capacity building to influence desired transformation.
She formerly served as Program Manager and Senior Policy Director respectively at Actions for Genuine Democratic Alternatives, a CSO working to promote transparent, accountable and participatory governance in Liberia. She served as associate and country researcher respectively for the 2012 and 2015 Open Budget Survey.
She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Liberia and a certificate on community leadership in the field of Transparency and Accountability from the George Mason University School of Continuing Education, USA. Mrs. Zoduah is a 2013 Community Solutions Program Fellow. As a fellow at the Siegel Institute for Leadership Ethics and Character at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, Zoduah hosted a series of roundtable discussions with leaders from the business, civil service, nonprofit, and education sectors to explore the state of transparency, accountability, and ethics in these four areas of work life.
