Dr. Candra Wijaya leads strategy and advocacy with Wahana Visi Indonesia, the Indonesian local partner of World Vision International. Under this role, he supports the roll out of World Vision’s social accountability work in Indonesia, using Citizen Voice and Action (CVA), a World Vision supported approach, including through the World Bank-GPSA Project and the EU-CSO Empowerment Project. Candra is an active member of Indonesia NGO Forum on Open Government Partnership, Maternal & Child Health Coalition and CSO Alliance on Ending Violence Against Children.
He is a medical doctor with public health and epidemiology specialty and worked for Government of Indonesia, leading several Primary Health Centres for 6 years prior to joining Wahana Visi Indonesia. Candra's first 10 years with Wahana Visi were spent leading community-based health programs with focus on Nutrition; Maternal & Child Health; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; HIV & AIDS, TB and Malaria.
