Luisa Balbi is Principal Manager at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). At the EBRD Luisa is charge of the governance pillar of the Bank’s Capacity Building Framework for civil society, which amongst other aims at improving transparency and enhancing competitiveness of public procurement processes. Luisa just returned to the EBRD after 18 months of secondment from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) where she was supporting the Italian Chairmanship with policy advice.

Luisa comes from a background in international relations and human rights acquired through multiple experiences in international organisations, including the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, UNICEF Egypt and collaboration with EU aid projects in Syria. Luisa holds an MBA from LUISS Business School, Rome and the University of San Diego, California (US) and an MA in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Genoa (Italy).
